A airport security officer on a standard power trip arrested an Irish youth in Leeds Bradford airport after overhearing him remarking to a friend about "having some craic".
Paddy O'Shea, a bricklayer from Galway in Ireland was returning from a stag weekend when the incident occurred. He got himself into the situation by uttering the innocent words when referring their alcoholic state and the local skirt they chased.
Unknown to the arresting office, PC Mouse - the word 'craic' is commonly used in Ireland and translates loosely as 'having fun'. Detective Mouse mistakenly accused O'Shea of being in possession of crack cocaine while also stands accused of acting in a very heavy handed manner when arresting O'Shea, who was clearly stil drunk at the time of the unfortunate utterance.
During O'Sheas arrest the other members of the stag group did as all good stag party members would - have a good giggle, take photos and loudly encourage their friend to "hit him Paddy".
While O'Shea was brought in for questioning the other members of the stag group boarded their flight and made their way back to Dublin airport, where they were later given their marching orders and barred after trying to row down the moving walkways.
While slightly annoyed about missing his flight O'Shea took the whole incident in good spirits "sure at least il miss work in the morning. And I might go back into town and try get the finger again, they love the accent over here they do."
When asked about how he felt about his friends continuing on the flight without him he replied "I didn't expect them bastards to wait for me anyway."
Airport Authorities said they intend on speaking to PC Mouse but offered him support. "This is Leeds Bradford, how are our team suppose to learn every other countries common phrases. We speak Pakistani here and a bit of English and that's more than Enough".
